“Choice follows Awareness!’ Mindfulness is truly the portal to living in balance! ~ Joel Levey
In the pre-coronavirus world, stress and burnout were common. You often scurried from your family to your job to your social life and juggled the complex responsibilities of relationships, children, and work overload. Most of the time, you were left exhausted trying valiantly to manage and control a life that had become both unmanageable and out of control. Now, in a drastic reversal of this activity, the stress has been replaced with a deafening silence.
It is possible to create balance between the two polarities so that you can live harmoniously with both the demands and the desires that are the essence of your authentic life:
Whether you are working, playing, exercising, meditating, dealing with the unexpected or are grappling with a rainbow of emotions – anger, love, fear, or joy – balance is the yardstick that measures the level of harmony that can keep your perspective in the planned and unplanned events of your life. Balance brings you closer to your heart, enhances your authentic self and allows you to flow with end the most difficult life circumstances.
A Tool to Help You Evaluate Where You Are in Your Life Today
My Life Assessment Tool provides a means to take a quick look at your personal situation in such areas as health, wellness, and vitality, spirituality and work and service and can give you a better visual representation of where your life might be out of balance and need attention. A score of 10/10 reflects a balanced, heart-based approach to life in that category.
Try this ->
Consider the level of balance you experience in each of the following vital categories in your life. Rate each category from 1-10 (10 being the most in balance and 0 being the least in balance.) Record the number beside each category.
(NOTE: A score of 10 in any category reflects a balanced and genuine approach to life that is authentically heart-aware.)
Action Steps:
1] Overall, how balanced or unbalanced is your life with regard to these areas. What areas are most in balance (score closest to 10)? Which ones are most out of balance (score closest to 0)?
2] Choose your top three unbalanced categories. Consider three steps that you could begin to do to bring the most out of balance areas back into alignment with your life? Journal your answer to this: What would having greater balance bring into your life?
A balanced lifestyle is simply a state of being in which one has time and energy for obligations and pleasures, as well as time to live well and in a gratifying way. ~ Madison Taylor
