Cats spend their day following the sun patches in their homes. They move to the places where the sun pours in seeking the warmth and comfort of the light. Perhaps this coming year invites us to find our personal sun patch in a world where fragility and uncertainty threaten to steal our capacity for joy and our sense of wellbeing and ‘ok’ness.
I invite you to copy the following poem and post it somewhere as a reminder of who we truly are and as an inspiration to look for the positive in the dark challenges that continue to move around us.
Breathe into the words as you read them and remember the capacity for joy and resilience that is in us all:
I sometimes forget
that I was created for Joy.
My mind is too busy.
My Heart is too heavy
for me to remember
that I have been
called to dance
the Sacred dance of life.
I was created to smile
To Love
To be lifted up
And to lift others up.
O’ Sacred One
Untangle my feet
from all that ensnares.
Free my soul.
That we might
Dance
and that our dancing
might be contagious.

Be well, Breathe Joy,
